“Wie können Hydrogele unsere Sichtweise auf unsere eigenen Ursprünge als aquatische Spezies verändern?
Nehmen Sie an einem praxisorientierten Workshop mit Michelle-Marie Letelier teil, in dem Hydrogele an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Biowissenschaften erkundet werden. Dieser Workshop lädt Sie dazu ein, mit Biopolymeren und Materialien aus dem Meer zu experimentieren, um Texturen, Kompositionen und experimentelle Kleinskulpturen zu schaffen. Gestalten Sie Ihr eigenes experimentelles Werk und nehmen Sie eine Technik mit, die Sie weiter erforschen können.
Abschluss: öffentliche Präsentation und Fishbowl-Discussion am 06.08., um 19 Uhr.

Michelle-Marie Letelier ist eine chilenische Künstlerin und Forscherin mit Wohnsitz in Berlin. Ihre multidisziplinäre Praxis umfasst Installationen, Video, Fotografie, Zeichnung und Skulptur und untersucht die ökologischen, politischen und sozialen Auswirkungen der Nutzung natürlicher Ressourcen. Ausgehend von ihrer Kindheit in der Atacama-Wüste verbindet sie wissenschaftliche Forschung mit poetischen künstlerischen Prozessen. Ihre Arbeiten wurden international in Museen, Biennalen und Ausstellungen präsentiert und thematisieren Rohstoffe, Landschaften und globale Umweltfragen. Durch ihre interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise schafft sie neue Perspektiven auf das Verhältnis zwischen Mensch, Natur und Ressourcen.
Anne-Marie Melster ist interdisziplinäre Kuratorin und seit 2005 auf Kunstprojekte zu sozialen und ökologischen Themen spezialisiert. Als Mitbegründerin und Geschäftsführerin von ARTPORT_makingwaves entwickelt sie internationale Projekte an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Wissenschaft und informeller Bildung. Ihr Fokus liegt auf Klimawandel, Meeresschutz und den 17 Nachhaltigkeitszielen der Vereinten Nationen. Sie kuratierte zahlreiche internationale Ausstellungen und Projekte, darunter Beiträge für mehrere UN-Klimakonferenzen. Mit dem WE ARE OCEAN Global Program, das von der UNESCO im Rahmen der UN-Ozeandekade unterstützt wird, fördert sie das öffentliche Engagement und die Beteiligung junger Menschen für den Schutz der Ozeane.

Join Michelle-Marie Letelier for a hands-on workshop exploring hydrogels at the intersection of art and the life sciences. This workshop invites you to experiment with biopolymers and materials sourced from the sea to create textures, compositions and experimental small-scale sculptures. Create your own experimental piece and take away a technique that you can explore further.

Michelle-Marie Letelier is a Chilean artist and researcher based in Berlin. Her multidisciplinary practice spans installation, video, photography, drawing and sculpture, exploring the ecological, political and social impacts of natural resource extraction. Drawing on her experience of growing up in the Atacama Desert, she combines scientific research with poetic artistic processes. Her work has been presented internationally in museums, biennials and exhibitions, addressing raw materials, landscapes and global environmental issues. Through her interdisciplinary approach, she offers new perspectives on the relationship between people, nature and natural resources.
Anne-Marie Melster is an interdisciplinary curator specializing in art projects addressing social and environmental issues since 2005. As co-founder and managing director of ARTPORT_making waves, she develops international projects at the intersection of art, science and informal education. Her work focuses on climate change, ocean conservation and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She has curated numerous international exhibitions and projects, including contributions to several UN Climate Conferences. Through the WE ARE OCEAN Global Program, endorsed by UNESCO as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, she promotes public engagement and youth empowerment for ocean protection.
