Seit längerem begleite ich mit dem Medienkollektiv Frankfurt Proteste und Aktivismus zu verschiedenen Themen. Dabei haben wir über das besetzte Haus in der Günderrodestraße im Frankfurter Gallus berichtet. Als sich abzeichnete, dass das besetzte Haus für einige Zeit weiter genutzt werden kann, entstand die Idee, in einem längeren Format die Entwicklung des Projekts und die Motivation der daran Beteiligten dokumentarisch auch für außenstehende Menschen sichtbar zu machen. In unserer Dokumentation sehen wir sozial engagierte und aktivistische Menschen, die auf Missstände und Ungerechtigkeit hinweisen und es schaffen, durch die Besetzung eines Immobilienleerstands, ein Zuhause für Menschen ohne Obdach zu schaffen.

I have been accompanying protests and activism on various topics with the Frankfurt media collective for a long time. We reported on the squat on Günderrodestrasse in Frankfurt’s Gallus. When it became apparent that the occupied house could continue to be used for some time, the idea arose to make the development of the project and the motivation of those involved in it visible to outsiders in a longer format. In our documentary we see socially committed and activist people who point out grievances and injustice and manage to create a home for people without home by occupying a vacant property.
