23 Jahre Internationales Theaterfestival

Dear Residents,

 Already for the 23nd time the international theater and music festival “Sommerwerft” is going to take place at the Weseler Werft, offering a wide range of cultural performances.

The program is supported by various organizations, as in recent years. The pratronage for our festival will this year be again presented by the mayor of Frankfurt, Mr. Mike Josef, which we are very happy about.

We are going to start the set-up on Monday, 22th of July and will take great care to reduce disturbance due to construction noise to the lowest possible level.

From 26st of July and the coming 17 days, we are going to transform the Weseler Werft into a space where illusion, fantasy and inspiration will rule due to daily changing cultural happenings that can be visited by all for free.

Visiting hours will be from Monday to Thursday from 17:00 and Friday to Sunday from 15:00. The event closes every day at 24:00 and we will take a serious effort to motivate our guests to leave as quietly as possible.

The acoustic performances will end at around 23:150. The noise emission are updated with the regulatory agency and noise emission control and are going to be checked regularly.

There is a safety concept coordinated with the authority of the city of Frankfurt, the fire brigade, the police and the local park authority.

The area will not be be fenced in but this year, only some vulnerable areas around the stages. At night the area will be protected and secured providing full access to the Main. Therefore, the way along the bank of the river can be used by foot and bike or scooter all day, although we will ask visitors to walk due to safety reasons. We will do our very best to keep disturbance for the neighbors as small as possible. Nevertheless, it is a lively festival!
