With his enchanting marimba and pantam sounds, Florian Betz’s music forms a haven of calm and deceleration. It is precisely the contrast between the powerful and virtuoso playing movements, the earthy groove and the soft, delicate sounds that makes his music so fascinating. The pantam (also known as handpan or hang) has only been around for 20 years. No other pantam player is able to make music on this instrument in as many voices as Florian Betz, who manages to replace an entire orchestra on his own.
